Anecdotes (sp?)

1
Sophie is standing on her stool at the upstairs bathroom sink. Hello Kitty watering can in hand. Plastic sand molds in the sink. In her words, "watering my flowers."
Her: Dad, I'm so happy.
Him: Oh, why is that?
Her: I'm like God watering my plants.

Sophie was given a leotard to go with her ballet slippers, tights and tutu. Which she wore as soon as possible, everywhere. While wearing it on our walk (she let me put pants over the top) and running down a Georgetown sidewalk:
"We have to HURRY Mommy. The monsters are trying to get my LEOTARD!!"
God save the leotard.

The Smile Train helps out kiddos with cleft lip and cleft palate. They sent us information. She saw the pictures in the mail and asked a lot of questions. We talked about how they are asking for money so that doctors can help the kiddos mouths not hurt. Thankfully they included post-surgery photos, or we'd have one distraught Sophie.
Her: Mommy, can we send them money? I want their lips to not be owwy.
Me: Sure sweetie.
She walks to the desk, gets the two quarters Daddio has been saving for his state collection, puts them in the donation envelope.
Her: Mommy, you lick it.
Me: Okay.
She takes it, puts it through the mail slot in our door and sits down next to me on the step with a look of relief. Me too Sophs, me too.
